Resumen
Objective: to know the perception of adolescents open centers users from Girona citya about sexuality, affectivity, roles wich emerge about their speech and what beliefs they hold. Design: qualitative, observational, discussion groups.
Subject and method: the select population consisted of 33 adolescents and youngs
between 12 and 22 years old, users of Open Centers of Girona city: open center of
Taialà, open center of Font de la Polvòra and open center of Barri Vell. They
participated in discusion groups formated by 6 members and 8 members. Discusion
groups of one hour without interval. We expossed various topics (flirting, virginity,
curiosity about the boy and sexuality, the main sources of information) in diferetns
sentences and they decided if these topics were “true” or “false” and who they
considered like issuers of these (a boy or a girl). Then, we have extrapolated categories
and subcategories that have helped to buil an idea about their perception about
gender and sexoaffetivity topics. Results: some of romantic love beliefs still yet between adolescents affecting gender roles. Woman is defined by a preventive and care rol. She has access to sexuality but is
cataloged for the experiencie about it being a “respetable” person or a “bitch”. She
takes a more active rol about the iniciative but this is not real in an assertive actitude
in her relationships. Man is defined by impulsive and sexual role. About sexuality
behaviour, we emphathize unwanted pregnancy like the issue that most concerned
about sexual intercouses and the ignorance/confusion they have between barrier and
emergency anticonceptive methods preventive methods available in the health
network. Appears pornografy like a strong model of sexual intercouses and
relationschips between men and women as opposed to others traditionals sources of
information and consultation like friends, that continue beig the most significative
source of information, family, social and educated services and Internet.
Conclusion: is demostrated the need to incorporate a gender prespective in training
curriculum of adolescents and to contintue rethinking the best intervention strategies
for to get an integrative conception of sexuality. (Extraído del documento)
